Ubantu Foundation

What we do

Six programmes, one approach

Ubantu Foundation works through six programme areas. They are deliberately connected: a woman trained in a livelihood centre needs digital skills to sell, a cooperative to buy raw material, and a panchayat willing to work with her.

Our vision and mission

What the Foundation is for

Vision. To promote happiness through social inclusion and enhanced quality of life for all.

Mission. To utilise the power of community capacity, cooperative entrepreneurship, sustainable technologies and innovative approaches, through an integrated approach, for the socio-economic development of the underprivileged sections of society.

The name comes from Ubuntu, a traditional African philosophy often translated as “I am because we are” — the belief in a universal bond of sharing that connects all humanity.
